You should choose a great watch repair service

Buying women’s and men’s watches in Malaysia is not easy. You need to do tons of research before finalizing your purchase. Of course, you shouldn’t buy a watch from an unreliable business. Another important thing is to choose a reputable watch repair service, in case something goes wrong with your watch. Never take your watch to that “fast fix” store at the nearest mall. Go to a reputable watchmaker with many years of experience.

You must keep the watch clean.

The bracelet and case of your timepiece can get damaged easily by seawater and exposure to chemicals. Perfumes and other cosmetic products can also damage straps. If your watch has been exposed to the aforementioned substances, make sure to clean it using a moistened cloth. Then, dry it carefully and store it in a well-ventilated space.

Learn more about watch movements. Know whether your timepiece has a mechanical or quartz movement. If you know what type of watch you have, you can give it the maintenance and care it needs. Take note that a mechanical watch should be cleaned every 3 to 5 years in order to retain its accuracy. Modern quartz watches, on the other hand, are basically maintenance free. However, it’s electronic movement is delicate, and can be easily damaged.

You should bear in mind that water resistant doesn’t always equate to waterproof.

Unless your watch is a diver watch, don’t submerge it in water. The gasket that provides your timepiece its water-resistant quality grows brittle and dry overtime, and must be replaced once your watch is serviced. If it becomes too dry, your watch would no longer be waterproof.
